Officials from several school districts met with State Assemblyman Mark Alessi (D-District 1) at Eastport-South Manor High School Sunday to discuss funding for education. Districts across Long Island say the schools don?t get their fair share, based on the number of students. School officials say they are tired of having to battle with Albany every spring for funding. Some parents in the Patchogue-Medford school district started a letter-writing campaign appealing for more money from Albany.
