A grand jury has indicted a Hempstead man who prosecutors say tried to murder his girlfriend.

Shaquon Lockwood allegedly slit his girlfriend's throat with a box cutter last month.

Prosecutors say the victim had an order of protection against Lockwood at the time.

If convicted, Lockwood could face up to 25 years in prison.
