Officials in Islandia have voted to ban the sale of medical marijuana. 

Islandia's board of trustees voted to amend zoning codes in order to ban the sale in neighborhoods, according to Newsday. 

Islandia's mayor contends that medical marijuana should be handled in hospitals.
