A fugitive from justice was arrested in Hempstead Thursday morning, police say.

According to detectives, Jorge Alberto Correa-Berrios, of 220 Wellesley St., was placed into custody.

The 35-year-old had an open warrant in Virginia for abduction, burglary, strangulation and rape.

He will be extradited to Virginia for prosecution.
