A Levittown home on Myrtle Lane was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the fire broke out on the first floor around 10 a.m. and took about an hour to get under control.

One man was inside at the start of the fire but managed to get safely outside.

The cause of the fire is not known.
