Fire officials say a small fire broke out at Nassau University Medical Center early Sunday morning.

The East Meadow Fire Department tells News 12 that it was called around 5:20 a.m. by hospital security. They say the fire broke out in the radiology area.

Officials say there is little ventilation in that area, so it produced a lot of smoke.

There were no injuries or patient evacuations.
