Critically injured city firefighter returns home to Islip Terrace
? A hero city firefighter from Long Island returned home today after being badly burned fighting a Brooklyn fire. Robert Wiedmann walked out of New York-Presbyterian Medical Center in Manhattan this morning to the sound of bagpipes and cheers from fellow firefighters.
Wiedmann, of Islip Terrace, was critically injured in December fighting a fire in Crown Heights.
