A teen was struck and seriously injured on a congested street in Huntington Station Wednesday.

Police say 15-year-old Carlos Veliz-Hernandez was trying to cross Jericho Turnpike near Melville Road just after 9 p.m. when he was hit by a BMW.

He was airlifted to the hospital in serious condition.

The driver has not been charged at this time.
