Police say a car slammed into a tree in Holtsville.

The incident happened on Nicholls Road near the LIE service road.

Police say the driver somehow lost control before crashing into the tree yesterday afternoon.

Witnesses at the scene say the driver was cut out of the car and rushed to the hospital.

News 12 has learned his injuries are not life-threatening.
