The Lindenhurst and Malverne fire departments are joining forces to support a firefighter battling cancer.

The departments are hosting a "Brothers for Brian" fundraiser on Jan. 29 for volunteer firefighter Brian Saphire.

Saphire is battling stage 4 brain cancer.

The event is happening at 5 p.m. at the Firemen's Pavilion in Lindenhurst.

It's $20 per person and all proceeds go to Saphire and his family.
