One City Island boy's hobby led him to become the youngest military re-enactor at a Long Island museum.
Matthew McGaughan is a 12-year-old boy who has an interest in World War II.
McGaughan dons his WWII costume at least once a month and jumps into the battlefield at the Museum of American Armor on Long Island along with his father and their fellow re-enactors.
Although McGaughan is too young to perform as a soldier, he plays a boy in the French resistance.
McGaughan says he has been a re-enactor for about four years now. He says he fell in love with war history after watching his father re-enact scenes from battles fought more than 70 years ago.
