Police say they have nabbed a man for trying to light an awning on fire at a Port Jefferson business.

According to police, Brian Colantropo, 34, of Wading River, allegedly kicked in a restaurant door and tried to burn an outdoor awning.

Police say Colantropo damaged the rear door of Tommy's Place on Main Street on March 1.

Colantropo was arrested last night.
