2 men hospitalized after being struck by train in East Hampton

The LIRR says two men were injured after being struck by a train Saturday afternoon.
It happened about a half-mile east of the East Hampton train station. The LIRR says the men were walking on the tracks when they were struck by the 12:10 train to Montauk from Jamaica.
A spokesperson for the railroad says two men, ages, 46 and 39, were injured. One of the men was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospitaland may have needed his toe to be amputated. The other was taken by ambulance to Southampton Hospital.
The injuries to both men were not considered life-threatening.
Their identities have not been released.
