'Day to Shine' at Three Village schools allows students of all abilities to work together
4ds agoThe senate faculty at Stony Brook University has voted to demand the college drop all charges against the 29 students, faculty and community arrested last week during pro-Palestinian protests.
The resolution also sets to have all records of those arrested expunged.
As News 12 has reported, the arrest were made last week when the protesters refused to vacate the area.
University, Suffolk and state police all responded to the university.
In the meeting, the faculty also voted to investigate a new campus police operation that was created by university President Maurie Mcinnis.
Speakers mentioned that campus police took cellphones from some protesters and refused to give them back.
The senate tabled a third resolution that declared they had no confidence in Mcinnis moving forward.
The president defended her handling of the protest.
