The Queens man accused of fatally shooting an NYPD detective from Massapequa Park was indicted Tuesday on murder charges.
Guy Rivera, 34, is accused of shooting NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller in the stomach while parked at a bus stop on March 25.
Rivera is also accused of attempting to shoot another officer. The Queens district attorney says Rivera’s gun jammed when he tried to do so.
Rivera is facing several charges, including murder in the first degree. He pleaded not guilty.
Diller's widow was in Queens Criminal Court alongside family members to face the suspect. Both in and out of the courtroom, there was a sea of blue with fellow members of the NYPD present to support the Diller family and demand justice for the fallen officer.
Rivera is due back in court on July 22 and will remain in jail until then. He faces life in prison if convicted on the top charge.
