Wyandanch High School officials have called off the rest of the football season after Suffolk police confirmed last week's fire was criminal.
The fire that tore through an equipment shed destroyed all the team's practice equipment.
The fire was the latest in a string of trouble for the school.
Since the start of the school year a stabbing occurred at Wyandanch's homecoming, and football players were allegedly caught bullying other students.
