MERRICK - Cpl. Kevin Vaughn, a wounded veteran that served time in Afghanistan, received news that he will be getting a newly built house in his honor.

The construction of the home is made possible by the Building Homes for Heroes Charity and Advanced Auto Parts.

Cpl. Vaughn was hurt by an improvised explosive device while serving, lost one leg and suffered injury to the other.

Vaughn's new residence will be built in his hometown of Merrick.
