A MTA bus hit and killed a 66-year-old woman as she crossed E. Gunhill Road Wednesday.

The woman?s crumpled umbrella was on the ground as police taped off the road at Bainbridge Avenue to investigate. Pedestrians say this latest accident is proof police should be directing traffic at the busy intersection during rush hour. An 84-year-old woman was hit by a bus in January and a 62-year-old man was also recently hit in the area.

Police issued the bus driver a summons for failing to yield.
