A Suffolk police officer is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at Suffolk's 1st Precinct while another one allegedly let it happen.
The incident allegedly happened inside Suffolk's 1st Precinct in West Babylon.
News 12 Long Island has learned exclusively that Suffolk police and the FBI are investigating the woman's allegations. She filed a civil lawsuit Tuesday in federal court.
According to the court documents, she says she was pulled over in a car on Straight Path in Wyandanch in March. She claims Officer Christopher McCoy groped her breasts before arresting her on an outstanding warrant and taking her to the 1st Precinct.
Once in the interrogation room, the woman alleges Officer McCoy rubbed up against her saying "Do you feel that?" and then forced her to perform oral sex.
The suit claims a second officer knew what was going on and did nothing to stop it.
The woman says she asked to be taken to the hospital after the incident but was refused by the officers. Her lawsuit indicates that she wanted a rape kit to be taken.
According to court documents, the woman claims she started receiving text messages from an unknown number. When she asked who it was, the texter, who she says is Officer McCoy, allegedly said "I put you in handcuffs, remember now?"
The woman went directly to the FBI to report the entire incident.
Suffolk police say Officer McCoy has been suspended without pay pending the FBI investigation. Assistant Police Commissioner Justin Meyers issued a statement saying the department was aware of the allegations and that internal affairs was assisting the FBI probe. Meyers also said the department is taking all appropriate action.
News 12 called the Suffolk PBA asking for the officer's attorney. They had no comment.
