Widow of slain cab driver Maoudo Kane calls for justice
The widow of a livery cab driver found dead early Tuesday morning is asking for help in finding her husband's killer.
Maoudo Kane was found fatally shot, with his cellphone missing, in the front yard of a house on Hunter Avenue. His cab was later found abandoned near Yankee Stadium.
His widow, Mame Maty Guey, says her husband wanted to support his family after emigrating from Senegal. He also wanted her to complete her GED, which she says she will now do in his honor.
Guey wants to have her husband's body flown back to Senegal, but says money is tight. The family has been reaching out to Senegalese President Mack Sall for help, as he is in Washington, D.C. this week.
The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
