WOODBURY - Hurricane Sandy is continuing on its path toward the northeast, bringing heavy winds and rain.

News 12 Long Island Meteorologist Norm Dvoskin says that widespread power outages are likely, as well as heavy rains, street flooding, coastal flooding and beach erosion.

Tonight, there will be periods of rain and high winds with lows of 51 degrees.
