WEATHER TO WATCH: Hot, humid temps return with storms through Friday

WHAT'S NEW: Tracking scattered showers and storms west of Long Island. A storm or two could reach us this evening before any wet weather quickly ends early tonight. Most of the action stays to our north. There's a better chance for some wet weather Friday evening into Friday night.
WHAT'S NEXT: Clearing and less humid for the weekend, it's going to be a beauty! As for next week, most of it looks dry again with temperatures heating up into the 90's by Thursday. We could be talking about our second heat wave of the season.

OVERNIGHT: Chance for an early shower or storm then clearing. Warm and muggy with lows near 73 degrees. West southwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Sunrise 5:46.
FRIDAY: Partly sunny, warm, and humid. Chance for late day showers and storms into Friday night. Highs near 86 degrees with southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset 8:11. Chance for showers and storms with brief heavy rain Friday night, clearing by morning. Lows near 71.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, warm, and less humid. Highs near 86. Lows near 68.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Highs near 85. Lows near 70.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Nice with highs near 84. Lows near 72
