A driver exiting his car to fix a flat tire was killed early Thursday morning on the Long Island Expressway.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives have identified him as Mark K. Feldman, 54, from Sands Point.
The incident occurred near Exit 39 in Old Westbury.
Police say the 54-year-old man was struck by a U.S. Postal Service tractor-trailer.
The driver of the mail truck stayed at the scene and is not facing charges.
