Tornado watch canceled for Nassau; heavy rain tapers off
The National Weather Service canceled the tornado watch issued for Nassau County.
However, a wind advisory is in effect from noon until 2 a.m. Tuesday for Long Island.
News 12 meteorologists say rain will last through much of the morning commute, with thunderstorms and downpours possible. There is a chance for street flooding and power outages.
As of 7 a.m., PSEG Long Island reported around 1,900 power outages across Long Island.
This afternoon expect sun and clouds, windy with 20 to 35 mph gusting up to 45 mph. Highs will be near 62 to 65 degrees.
Tonight, will see clearing skies with breezy conditions and chillier temperatures, with lows in the upper-30s.
Tuesday will be the nicest day of the week, with mostly sunny skies.
