Some new energy saving tips from the federal government are dividing people on the web.

Energy Star says that maintaining an indoor temperature of 78 degrees during the day in the summertime can reduce electric bills by as much as 10%.

The program says that the indoor temperature should be kept as close to the outdoor temperature as comfortably possible.

The program says nighttime temperatures should be as high as 82 degrees.

Tweets about the temperature have since gone viral, with some online saying those temperatures are ridiculously hot, while others say they're perfectly comfortable.
