Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus spent Saturday drive-through testing first responders and health care professionals for COVID-19.

About 50 to 100 people received tests after being on the front lines helping reduce the spread of the virus. Hospital leaders say those that want a test must take a brief online survey and have an appointment with a family doctor or through Telehealth. If deemed necessary, first responders and health care professionals living or working in Bergen County receive a confirmation code number that’s can be presented at the drive-through testing site.

Deborah Visconi, the president and CEO of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, says another 100 tests are expected on Sunday for first responders who have been given priority. It’s also available to Bergen County residents who first go through the screening process on the hospital website.

"Those are the heroes that are on the front lines every day, so we want to make sure that they are given as much access as possible to testing," she said.
