Teens save elderly couple after staying out late
Authorities say an elderly Lynbrook couple is alive due to a pair of teenagers staying out past their curfew.
Gideon Stryker and Jake Kayen, both 15, say they went into Manhattan Sunday to sightsee and try to see the R-rated film "Inglourious Basterds."
The Hewlett teens say they were walking home from the train station at around 12:30 a.m. Monday when they noticed a fire at a home. Stryker says he called 911 while Kayen banged on the front door to get the couple out of the home.
Kayen says his mother changed her mind about grounding him for breaking curfew when she found out he helped save the couple.
