Synagogue group brings Christmas cheer to patients
Hospital patients in Manhasset got a special treat today from members of a local synagogue who have been delivering Christmas cheer for years.
For the past 39 years a group from Great Neck?s Temple Beth-El has visited hospital patients, caroling and delivering presents.
?We call it tikkun olam, it's giving back, community service, and it's a wonderful thing,? says caroler Steve Wolf, ?It gives us as great a pleasure as the patients.?
The volunteers also helped pack up gifts for the adopt-a-platoon program North Shore University Hospitals participates in overseas.
