A Brentwood man is facing multiple felony drug and weapons charges after Suffolk police seized drugs, cash and a stash of illegal gun parts from his home and a storage facility in Bay Shore.
Suffolk District Attorney Tim Sini says the accused, 35-year-old Yasir Carnegie, is a known associate of the Bloods gang. Police say they seized about 80 grams of crack-cocaine, 35 grams of heroin, MDMA and Suboxone from his Brentwood home.
At the storage facility, investigators say they found 47 illegal high-capacity magazines for AR-15 and AK-47 rifles.
“This is an individual who associated with known gang members. He committed crimes in connection with those gang members, which included drug dealing. They sold drugs to other drug dealers and other individuals,” says Sini.
The DA says the investigation is continuing into whether Carnegie was selling the ammunition.
News 12 spoke with the owner of the storage facility who says he reaches out to authorities when he sees something suspicious. But in this case, he says he wasn't involved.
A judge set a combined bail for all of the charges at $45,000 cash or $100,000 bond. Carnegie is due back in court on Monday.
