Suffolk police say a woman likely drowned after she jumped into the Connetquot River in Oakdale to save her dog early Sunday morning.
Investigators say an employee at the Oakdale Yacht Club called 911 to report a body floating in the water.
The woman, identified as 62-year-old Catherne Andreau, of Babylon, was pulled from the water and pronounced dead.
