A man fatally shot his wife before killing himself in Lake Grove Sunday afternoon, according to a press release from the Suffolk County Police Department.

Officers responded to 184 Hallock Road after a 911 caller told police that while conducting a wellness check, a man had been found dead.

When they arrived, they found Varujan Manougian, 69, dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His wife, 67-year-old Barbara Manougian, was found with a gunshot wound in a vehicle that was parked directly outside the apartment building.

Investigators believe that Varujan shot his wife before going inside and killing himself. There was no one else in the home at the time of the incident.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
