Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and health officials gave an update on the county's response to the coronavirus outbreak Saturday.
Bellone announced that assisted living facilities throughout Suffolk will be getting deliveries of the NYS Clean hand sanitizer throughout the weekend. He also updated the number of positive coronavirus cases to at least 37.
On Friday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that New York will be ramping up testing. Saturday, he announced the first death from coronavirus in the state, an 82-year-old woman with underlying respiratory illness. He added that Jones Beach is being eyed as a possible drive-thru testing site.
