A new study says heavy social media use can hurt teens’ health.
The study was published in the journal The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health and suggests that social media exposes teens to negative messages and cuts into sleep and exercise time.
British researchers interviewed nearly 10,000 kids between the ages of 13 and 16.
Many reported frequent social media use.

The researchers say that frequent use of social media exposes young people to harmful content, increases their exposure to bullying and reduces participation in activities that have a positive impact on mental health.
