Students take part in pro-Palestinian protest at Hofstra University

A smaller group of pro-Israeli students stood silently and watched the protest that went on for several hours.

A pro-Palestinian protest took place Thursday afternoon at Hofstra University.
There were approximately 50-100 students holding signs and waving Palestinian flags. At least one faculty member also joined the students for the demonstration.
Protesters called for an end to U.S. financial support of Israel amid the ongoing war in Gaza.
A smaller group of pro-Israeli students stood silently and watched the protest that went on for several hours.
Hofstra University Public Safety tightened security during the protest that remained peaceful.
A Hofstra spokesperson said, "A group of passionate students and a few faculty gathered today outside Hofstra Hall to protest the war in Gaza. The demonstration has been peaceful."
