Streets in Suffolk County still riddled with ice patches

Roads across Suffolk County, especially in Farmingville, are strewn with ice and slush. (February 11, 2013)

FARMINGVILLE - Roads in Suffolk County, especially in Farmingville, are still riddled with icy patches after the weekend blizzard.

Frozen slush is still a major problem on local streets, with trucks unable to get their plows low enough to chip away at the ice. Drivers are out and about, but the ride is bumpier than most would prefer.

Rain and fog are expected for most of the day, which should make driving dangerous. Motorists are advised to stay off the roads if they can afford to.
