New York American Water postpones rate hike in response to pandemic

New York American Water is postponing a rate hike.
As News 12 has reported, the price of water was set to increase for more than 120,000 customers starting Tuesday.
However, the Merrick-based water company has put off the $10 a month increase until Jan. 1.
In a filing with the Public Service Commission, New York American Water says the delay is in response to the ongoing pandemic.
