Police say a Ford SUV veered off the Southern State Parkway, spun out of control and went through trees before hitting two cars on Old Britton Road in North Bellmore Sunday.
Jonathan Cervantes says the SUV crashed into his cousin's Toyota RAV 4 that was parked in front of his home. A blue pickup truck traveling down the road was also hit.
Witnesses tell News 12 that two young men were in the blue pickup truck and got out to help the people that were in the Ford. Multiple neighbors on the block say a whole family was inside of the Ford, including an infant.
Cervantes says he went to help pull the people and the baby out of the car.
State police say the four people in the Ford were taken to the hospital, with one having serious injuries. They say everyone is expected to survive.
The father of the two brothers in the blue pickup truck says they're both volunteer firefighters, and even though they were slightly injured, they ran to help the family in the Ford.
