PSEG LI gives News 12 inside look into how crews are restoring power

PSEG LI is giving News 12 an inside look at how it is restoring power across the island.
A PSEG LI field supervisor, who was working on an outage in Jericho where 60 customers have not had power since Tuesday, says that crews first have to remove any trees that fell on power lines.
Once the trees are removed, another crew steps in to replace or repair any lines or damaged poles.
The supervisor says he understands that some customers get frustrated while the work is happening. Some people say while the six days without power felt like weeks, they recognize that the crews they see are working to restore their power.
PSEG LI says its crews are working as fast and as safely as they can.
The utility adds that sometimes, a crew can show up to a location and come across something they weren't prepared for and have to send a different crew.
Depending on what they find that could mean the repairs take longer than anticipated.
