Hofstra University has moved a statue of former President Thomas Jefferson that has long been the topic of debate.
Video shows the statue of the former president at its old location next to the main entrance of the Student Center. However, yesterday, the statue was moved to the west side of the Emily Lowe Museum.
Officials say the statue was a reminder and consistent source of pain for many Black students and allies.
The moving of the statue came following a unanimous decision by the college's committee and Board of Trustees.
