Long Island residents say they are taking precautions so that there isn't another outbreak of coronavirus as Phase 3 is set to begin Wednesday.
Phase 3 will include reopening restaurants at 50% capacity, nails salons and personal care businesses with guidelines in place. Phase 3 also allows for up to 25 people to gather, up from the current limit on gatherings of 10 people.
Nassau health officials warn that if you are going to get together with 25 other people, you should still cover your face and stay 6 feet apart.
Dr. Thomas McGinn, the deputy physician-in-chief at Northwell Health, says it is critical that people, especially those over 40 years old, stay out of large crowds. He also recommends Long Islanders continue to participate in outdoor activities instead of indoor activities.
