Protesters took to the streets of Farmingville Thursday, demanding for changes and reform in the wake of George Floyd's death.

Organizers called the event a solidarity protest along North Ocean Avenue, where dozens gathered to demand justice for Floyd.

The Facebook page created for the event specifically called for the demonstration to be peaceful -- as most across Long Island have been in recent days.

"The most important thing about Black Lives Matter is to understand the history of what black people have been through," says organizer Judy Le. "One of the most important things is to understand the systemic racism that has affected blacks -- which includes police, education, the workplace."
