A fire consumed a manufacturing company just off Route 109 in Farmingdale Friday.
Authorities say the call came in around 5:30 p.m. at 37 Potter Street for a blaze so intense, several propane tanks exploded.
The fire forced Route 109 to close between Route 110 and East Carmens Road and interrupted Long Island Rail Road service in both directions.
Fourteen fire departments responded to the scene and two firefighters suffered minor injuries, authorities say.
It is not known what sparked the fire.
