A new effort is letting residents show their appreciation to nurses who are working on the front lines of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
Kristen Hansen, an RN at Stony Brook University Hospital, created the 'Adopt A Nurse' program.
Residents can create care packages or have food delivered to individual nurses.
"I wanted to do something that would support my fellow nurses and also include the community," sayss Hansen. "Adopt A Nurse came to me, it's showing nurses support, showing nurses they are cared about and loved, and what they are doing is not unnoticed and not unappreciated."
