RiseBoro Community Partnership making it easier for seniors to stay indoors

RiseBoro Community Partnership is helping seniors stay indoors during the coronavirus pandemic by delivering meals to those in need during the crisis.
"I am grateful. As senior citizens, we're not able to go out and purchase these meals because of the fact of the virus,” said Theodore Simons, a resident at Gates Plaza Senior Housing.
Those Bushwick residents say they are thankful to be receiving a hot meal during this difficult time.
"What we're seeing is that the poor communities, the communities of color that we serve, are the ones who are going to be hardest hit by this crisis and so it's essential to make sure that we can support these vulnerable populations and help them get through this,” said Scott Short, Riseboro CEO.
He says that while the pandemic has caused senior centers to close, they’re going to continue doing their part to help seniors in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
