President Donald Trump announced that more rapid testing devices are going to be distributed across the country.
On Long Island, three AFC Urgent Care locations have seen an influx of patients due to their ability to administer the rapid test, producing results in 15 minutes.
The locations in Farmingdale, West Islip and East Meadow are now by appointment-only to protect the health and safety of the patients and the community.
The locations say they have obtained more tests and are now able to administer approximately 2,000 tests a week, but are in need of more medical staff.
AFC says medical assistants and medical scribes will have no patient interaction. Anyone who can help is urged to reach out by e-mailing farmingdaleteam@afcurgentcare.com
It is not clear what additional locations on Long Island will also receive rapid testing devices.
