Police: Man coughed, claimed to have coronavirus when denied cigarettes at Lakewood store
Police in Lakewood say a man has been accused of coughing and claiming to have coronavirus when a liquor store employee wouldn’t sell him cigarettes.

The incident happened Thursday around 12:15 p.m. at the Pine Cone Liquors store on Second Street.

According to police, Juan Gomez Sanchez, 25, was denied cigarettes at Pine Cone Liquor. That’s when police say he then started coughing, claiming he had COVID-19.
Sanchez was issued a criminal complaint for disorderly conduct, and is expected to be in court next month.
