Long Island University’s 2020 commencement ceremony will now be held virtually.
The announcement was made by President Kimberly Cline.
Cline said the decision was made in an effort to protect the health of their students, families, alumni and their employees during the coronavirus pandemic.
The virtual ceremony will take place on May 20. Invitations will be mailed out by April 20.
The university also announced it will plan a special celebration for 2020 graduates during the school’s homecoming weekend held from Oct. 16 through Oct. 18.
