Diocese of Rockville Centre cancels all public church services

Posted: Updated:

The pandemic is now taking a bigger toll on Long Island Catholics.

The Diocese of Rockville Centre has canceled all public church services until further notice.

The move means all weddings, baptisms, and funerals at Catholic churches across Long Island are canceled.

Burial services will be permitted while observing safe distance precautions, but only at the grave site.

Private prayers are still being permitted, as long as the proper precautions are taken.
