Social distancing during the coronavirus outbreak has drastically changed the way people have been celebrating special days, but the Nassau County Police Department made sure that one boy felt special on his birthday.
Rebekah Klochkoff said her son Eugene was turning 5 years old, and was very upset they had to cancel his birthday party.
She sent a Facebook message to the police department Monday evening and asked if it could send a police car to drive past their house because Eugene loved dressing up as a police officer.
On Tuesday, the department responded, and put together a celebration parade with a fleet of cars.
Klochkoff says Eugene and his brother Alexander were police officers for Halloween and wear the costumes at least three times a day, so it was a very special birthday celebration.
