State officials put out public plea for PPE donations for health care workers

State officials are putting out a plea to the public to donate “personal protection equipment” for health care workers.
Officials say that masks and other medical items to protect health care workers from contracting illnesses is critically low.
The New Jersey State Police issued a statement on Twitter asking people to donate whatever PPE items that they could. Anyone who is willing to donate can contact state police by email at ppedonations@njsp.org.
Somerset County officials on Monday set up a donation drive in Hillsborough. Supplies were donated to local first responders and to the staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
